In America, this would be debated over 2 issues. The one side would say, without the opposite sex in the classroom, the students are not so distracted from their work. I would agree that there would be 'less' distraction, but there is plenty of distraction within same sex groups anyways. There are others that would argue that we learn much of our socializing skills while attending schools. We need to learn how to socialize with one another, including with the opposite sex.
